This music was written to accompany informal performances of Shakespeare plays by friends. It also served the purpose of reacquainting myself with computer music recording and production in 2007.
These three are best described as "ambient".
Banquo's ghost (1) (1.55),
Banquo's ghost (2) (1.20),
Lady Macbeth (3.46).
These tracks are experiments with collaging vocal noises and
applying effects. Yes, I like reverb a bit too much! Note the first
is constructed entirely from a single sample of me speaking the
infamous witches' refrain, processed into oblivion.
Double, double toil and trouble (1.52)
Black Spirits (0.30),
Come away (0.21)
Other predictably witchy music, with distorted woodwinds and folk drums.
Witch 1.3 (1.39),
Dance 4.1 (0.25).
Fanfares, alarums, sennets and the like, of varying interestingness.
Alarum 1.2 (0.14),
Flourish 1.4 (0.11),
Hautboys 1.6,(0.14),
Hautboys 1.7 (0.12),
Act 1-2 interlude (0.25),
Act 2-3 interlude (0.16),
Sennet 3.1 (0.07),
Colours 5.2 (0.10),
Colours 5.4,(0.14),
Colours 5.5 (0.10),
Colours 5.6 (0.11),
Colours 5.9 (0.16),
Flourish 5.9 (0.12).
Incidental battle music, intended to be more interesting than
synthetic fanfares. Notice that pitch-shift is a useful tool for
adding spice to plain brass sounds!
"Your leafy screens throw down..." (0.57),
Scene 5.7 (2.00),
Macbeth and Macduff (1.52) (much darker!),
Alarums 5.8 (0.58).
Macbeth: Finale (5.22). This is shamelessly intended to be in the style of film end credits.
Death of Fidele (1.34), Posthumus's Vision (2.57).
The Cuckoo and the Owl - duet for soprano and alto. PDF
Come, thou monarch of the vine - simple drinking song for mixed chorus. PDF
